MOSR is continually the largest stockpile of bull I have ever encountered on the internet. Just after they make that claim, they say "Apple expects to be able to offer 17-inch models for sale to new customers on demand by the first of April." Now, unless only about 20 people have ordered the 17" PowerBook to date, there is no WAY Apple will clear the backlog in 7 to 10 days. You might find a few retail stores that have ordered more than they have presold and hence have one or two hanging around for a day, but it'll take quite a while for everybody to get their laptops once they start coming. It really just sounds to me like the author is taking the various estimated ship dates (people generally have something like March 20, 27, or April 10, as far as I've seen), averaged them to get the "initial shipping" date, then hopped onto the Apple store, where he found a 3-5 week wait for a new order today, which would put it at the beginning of April. Of course, it'll be longer than 3-5 weeks to get a new order shipped to you in the same day. <sigh> I just can't wait until I get my 17"... And one of my employers might buy me a 12" too... :-D I'll have to wait a couple months to find out, though.
