It is considered high in the "coolness" scale but has limited usefulness. I love it in certain applications like those in the iLife bundle. I also find it very handy in Entourage for scrolling, and the clicker for Command/K. I use the 'hold down click' universally to send a Command/H. Mainly I love it for its pulsing blue light (very calming) and for an alternate way of using my right hand for certain tasks that can prevent RSI - which could bother me if I only used my Kensington Turbo Mouse Pro. But if you need a jog wheel with bells and whistles for intensive media tasks, the PowerMate doesn't really cut it. There are many more precision products that can do the job. jg
