Yes even in this day and age we still have to worry about floppies. Well I do. My wife has about 200 floppies that she has used for backup of her documents, they range from disks formatted on a Mac Plus, Mac II, 650, 8600. I now have to read those disks and get them to my hard drive and burn a CD or DVD. The Programs that the documents are written in range from MacWrite (various versions), WordPerfect, and various version of MS Word. I have no trouble reading those that are formatted 1.44 as i have a VST USB Floppy Drive I have even tried to use the floppy drive in the 8600 that I gave to my nephew. But, many disks are coming up unreadable please initialize of t"there is a problem with the disk please check". Many of those come up with part of the disk used but no documents or I cannot copy the documents to the hard drive. Also at times when I get a string of disks that ask to be initialized I insert a disk that has been read successfully and often I am then asked to initialize the disk. help Help Help Can a floppy drive be out of register?
