Chris, Thank you very much for your help! I tried what you suggested (deleting the com.apple.helpui folder. However, it did not resolve my problem. And I do have have a folder called Library under Macintosh HD/Users and not under Macintosh HD/Users/Shared. I do not recall if and how it might have been moved one directory up. Do you think it would be safe to try to move it back down to Macintosh HD/Users/Shared. What should I have inside Macintosh HD/Users ? Only the users directories and a directory called Shared? Currently I have three directories here: my user, Library and Shared. Inside Shared there is only one folder called Faxes. Thank you very much for your help again.
