Dennis: Thanks for your advice. I checked vents and blew everything out, but nothing appeared clogged. No luck there. Then I disassembled the thing and it thermal connectivity *appeared* solid between the processor and heat sink. This is definitely the source of the heat, so should I try applying more thermal grease? How much is the *right* amount for a TiBook? Is there a brand that someone really recommends? I'm currently getting about 30 minutes of work time before I need to give it a 20 minute break. Since I live on this thing, those aren't optimal working conditions. As always, your insights are appreciated. :) > From: Dennis Fazio <dfz at mac.com> > Reply-To: "A place to discuss Apple's Titanium computers." > <titanium at listserver.themacintoshguy.com> > Date: Tue, 29 May 2007 09:33:35 -0500 > To: "A place to discuss Apple's Titanium computers." > <titanium at listserver.themacintoshguy.com> > Subject: Re: [Ti] TiBook Overheating > > > On May 29, 2007, at Tue, May 29 2007, 9:18 am, Rafe Day wrote: > >> I have an 800MHz PPC G4 1GB RAM TiBook that has started to overheat in >> recent months. > > Some options to look at: > > I assume there are no runaway processes causing this?
