I posted this to the OS X list but did not receive a reply. Maybe some can help me here. Subsequent to posting I was informed by my ISP to flush the cache via Terminal which I did <lookupd -flushcache> This then allowed me to ping sites, but when I open a browser, I am still denied access. My ISP technical director says apparently a lot of of Mac people have a been experiencing this problem. However even if this works on 0SX, how do I get it to work on OS 9 where I am experiencing the same problem? Original message: Since last week Tuesday, both my wife, running an iMac 15" 800 using OS 9.2.2 and Explorer 5.1 and I, using a PB 17" 1 GHZ 10.2.8 and with Mozilla .7, Safari and Explorer 5.2, have not managed to get onto the internet beyond our ISP's hosted sites. They insist I must reinstall the browsers, but I find it strange that we can both not get in using 4 browsers on two OS's. I know they were setting up firewalls to help protect against the MyDoom.A and .B viruses. Could these be mac-phobic? Could either of these viri have affected us? We connect through a router via ISDN. I tried reinstalling Mozilla but had no luck, but of course cannot get onto the net to download new installers. Any advise or tips would be greatly appreciated. Regards, Roy
