Thanks for the reply. The tech note you mention refers to the CD tray opening repeatedly on its own due to a manufacturing defect in the CD door. This not the behavior I am experiencing. To be more explicit, the CD tray opens once, only at startup. It closes on shut down. It stays closed if I reach over and close it. This behavior began shortly after installing MacOS X, although that may or may not be relevant. Any ideas? - Mark On Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at 05:43 AM, Mac OS X Hardware wrote: > ------------------------------ > > Message-ID: <3E63C7F6.3C050429 at mac.com> > Date: Mon, 03 Mar 2003 16:24:07 -0500 > From: Macbeth <onemac5 at mac.com> > Subject: Re: [X-HW] CD Tray opens on boot > > > > Mac OS X Hardware wrote: > >> Mac OS X Hardware Digest #280 >> >> 1) CD tray opens on boot > > Apple has this documented on their website but not as a booting > symptom. > > http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=58771 > > HTH. > > Macbeth > > > ------------------------------
