[X Newbies] Can you configure "recent items" menu?

The way I get around this is by using FruitMenu and configuring it's 
Apple menu to include a folder where I keep all my active/working 
documents. I haven't used SO X's Apple menu since I discovered 
FruitMenu. (through Versiontracker)
