Just guessing... > In the same 'might be obvious' vein, are you booted to CD? You can't repair your boot drive with DUFA if you are currently booted to it. The volume also may not be visible - you might need to single click the disclosure triangle (to the left of "55.89 Hitachi"). In hopes of preventing another obviousity: When you upgrade to 10.2 (or 10.3), you'll have an option to repair permissions in Disk Utility. To repair permissions, you *do* want to be booted from the hard drive, not from the cd, and you want to select the volume (name) not the device (capacity). -- Scott
