Uh, no.

TextEdit, Appleworks, OpenOffice, Mariner Write, ICWord and quite a few 
others are able to open and write MS Word files. TextEdit is included 
with OS X. Appleworks is on most "consumer" macs (iMacs, eMacs, 
iBooks). The others are either free or shareware.
