I have now figured out how to write a plain text message in Gmail. I don't mind reducing the message, as long as it is logical, but it is typical that in a panic situation (like the one that I am still in), when you are having to write e-mails in an unfamiliar program or method, it shouldn't be necessary to have to worry about how small the posting is - particularly because panic/rescue e-mails are often information packed. I have never before come across another list (except the ones that have the same owner as this one) that limits e-mail size. The macintoshguy lists used to be vibrant and active, but now there is hardly anyone that posts. Cheers, Brian
