While Tiger does indeed require at least a G3, the main reason that OS  
X won't work, even with XPostFacto and a CPU upgrade, is that the 8100  
is a Nubus based machine.

Agreed, although I'd recommend a G4 AGP Sawtooth as the minimal  
starting point.
