Brian: I am also new to 10.5.5 and Time Machine. I am not a heavy user. I did not need back-ups as often as the default, so I got a App to do it once a day. Then my first problem problem was a corrupt Mac Mail App. I opened Time Machine and reinstalled the Back-up of before my Corruption. GREAT. I have found everything I have checked is backed up. I seem to remember something about that only Time Machine aware apps can be backed up, but how do you find out which non-Apple apps are Time Machine aware? I would also appreciate a link to a "HowTo" in how to use Time Machine (backup strategies).
