Jan, Fire up the server monitor and check the error logs, that will likely give you a stream of time stamped instances that you can troubleshoot. I've seem this when the server is configured to get it's directory information from a NetInfo parent, and the parent either doesn't exist (it's a single server network) or has disappeared. If you ran the Open Directory Assistant (which runs after the initial OSX Server Wizard) and selected 'Gets directory information from a parent server' or something to that effect, then that's likely your problem. You want to set it to provides info to other servers if you need to login with Windows machines, or stores and used local info if your server is self contained (not part of a larger distributed NetInfo network) and doesn't need to authenticate Windows users (isn't going to support Windows clients). You can run the Wizard again, it's in Applications:Utilities:Open Directory Assistant - you'll need to reboot in order to affect the changes. Cheers, :Steve -- Stephen R.
