[X-Unix] is "sync" still broken?

Has anybody gotten iSync to work yet under 10.4?  (with Contacts)

I still find it failing even after the last upgrade to 10.4.2

It starts off fine, but then dies with the message:
"Could not post change notification to replicant server."

And in fact, I find a different number of records in my .mac address  
book than in my on-line address book.
