I have been following this thread from the start. Since you no or very little working background in this (as we have all been there), I would suggest that you read the "Linux Networking HOWTO". Go to "www.thelinuxdocumentprodject.com" or maybe it is "www.ldp.com". Go to the "HOWTO" folder and find the one/s you wish to read. You will find them most informative and easy to understand. The Networking HOWTO will explain it all. Also, a good Basic book on networking will provide much reference for you. I hope I have been helpful!
