>Crap! It looks as if RAM will not be a user servicable part. Does >anyone know if the geniuses will only install Apple purchased RAM? I >haven't cruised through pricewatch.com, but $425 seems steep for a 1GB >chip... Based on the pictures on this page, I suspect you're right :^( http://www.apple.com/macmini/design.html They mention needing to go to an Apple Store or an authorized reseller. The reseller would probably be your best bet for getting 3rd party RAM installed. $425 for 1GB is outrageous! In looking at the one picture they show of the guts of the system I'm guessing you need a special tool to open the case. It's possible that 3rd party RAM sellers might offer such a tool, especially if the Mac Mini is as popular as I suspect it will be. All in all, this looks like a really awesome little box with a lot of potential! It's absolutely perfect for someone that ones a Mac for email and web, which could describe a lot of PC users (just plug it into a KVM and they have safer email and web access). It also looks like it would make a terrific little server, and it's a lot more powerful than some of the servers I work with! Zane -- -- | Zane H.
