[X4U] Powerbook screen too dark outside

I use my 17" PowerBook outside a lot and always found the brightness  
level on the low side.   However I have just realised that the screen  
seems much brighter and easier to use outside now and the only thing  
I have done is upgrade to Tiger.  What OS are you running?

In the summer months I like to work outside on my deck with my  
Powerbook (Alum 15"). The deck has an awning but I'm not really in  
dim shade here or anything, more like diffused shade.
