i totally agree...new window and new tab open blank pages for me as 
well. i can always click on the "home" button if i want to go home. 
but during a workday, the last thing i want to see is "loading 
homepage"... "loading homepage"... "loading homepage"... "loading 
homepage"... "loading homepage"... "loading homepage"...

too bad firefox doesn't let you (1) specify homepage and (2) open 
blank by default. you can do one or the other but not both.
