[X4U] Weird OSX Activity?

My display on my Pismo keeps dimming like its getting ready to  
sleep.  I had the Energy Saver settings set for Power Adapter because  
I always leave it plugged in.  So I went to check the Energy Saver  
settings and it had been switched to Battery.  I switched it back to  
Power Adapter, where I have it set to only put the display to sleep  
after 1 hour of inactivity.  I also unchecked the setting to start  
dimming the display before it goes to sleep.

Then, before my eyes, it switched back to 'Battery'.  I switched it  
back to Power Adapter...it switched back to Battery, then I sat and  
watched it flip back and fourth on its own, every couple of seconds.   
I also noticed that it was Syncing.  I recently purchased a .Mac  
account.

As I am typing this, the display keeps dimming and then going back to  
normal.  Was there some recent software update that could have caused  
this?  Could it be something to do with .Mac or iSync?
