[X4U] Weird Keyboard Layout Changing

Greetings All,

Has anyone else seen this:
When the screen saver cuts in, my keyboard layout changes to another
(usually French). The layout changes back to US after I enter my password
using the new keyboard layout.  -- I don't think this is a new OS X security
feature ;)

I've already eliminated all layouts but the US through the International
pref pane. Anybody have an idea of something else I could try?
