[X4U] Changing User name

I've downloaded ChangeShortName and have read the Read Me file. It 
offers lots of warnings to the point of even recommending not changing 
the Short User Name and living with the old one. But from what I 
gather, the warnings are in case the change isn't done successfully and 
you end up with an unusable system. What I don't see are the 
ramifications of successfully changing the Short User Name. If I run 
the script, and it manages to change both the short and long user names 
in all the right places, would I still have cause for concern?
