Thanks, Zane but I don't think it is an OEM license because I have moved my VPC installation several times to different Macs without an issue. Also the VPC license worked fine with a Windows XP Upgrade CD that I borrowed on another Mac. It only didn't work with a volume license CD foe which there must be a different set of license numbers.
