OEM licenses are tied to the system that they're purchased for. Only in the case of a full blown commercial WinXP package are you allowed to transfer the OS from your old hardware to new hardware. As I understand it the specific piece of hardware that the license is tied to is the Motherboard. I know I've upgraded just about every piece of hardware including the CPU several times on my Pentium 4, but haven't upgraded the Motherboard (or the Video, but that doesn't count). There is also a limit on the number of hardware changes you can do in something like a 6 month period, go past that and you'll have licensing problems. Of course only the first bit about OEM licenses is really applicable for what you're trying to do. Zane -- | Zane H.
