I need to know in which field I place what to make > sending the fax a success. > I select "Fax PDF" (in the print menu) and then....? > > Is it correct that I place 9897451 in the top line and 008144 in the > bottom line? the "00" is for us for an international connection. paul an even simpler way to think of Japan telenumbers... they all start/are printed/written (basically) beginning with zero, "0". dialing within japan, the initial zero can be dialed Optionally in local area; Must be dialed for out-of-local area; when calling cellphones. dialing in from off-island however, the initial zero is always dropped. numbers look like this for you (not being in the US), eg: (using spaces instead of hyphens is my convention) tokyo - 03 1234 5678 -> 00 81 3 1234 5678 yokohama - 045 123 4567 -> 00 81 45 123 4567 chiba - 0471 12 3456 -> 00 81 471 12 3456 sapporo - 011 123 4567 -> 00 81 11 123 4567 cellphones start off mostly 050; 070; 080; 090 -> 00 81 90 1234 5678 free dial/tollfree normally starts with 0120, but i don't think these numbers will connect from overseas. as i mentioned, for the most part numbers are now 8-digit, thou there are areas that hold on to the older 7-digit and 1, 2 or 3-digit areas codes!!! pretty wild, eh? george
