[X4U] What's the best way to backup the tiger DVD?

I would like to keep a copy of the DVD on my external drive for safe keeping and
emergency use. So can I just create a DVD/CD Master image in Disk Utility? If
so how would I go about burning the DVD should I wish to recreate the bootable
CD?
