thank you Stroller. though I'd share what I did with
everyone. 
I uninstalled all my fonts except the printer fonts
and then reinstalled the fonts using Font Book instead
of Suitcase. Suitcase is still there but Font books
seems to have taken over. Do I really need Suitcase?
On a day to day basis I only use basic fonts, but I do
have a couple of freelance jobs that require more.
