wow..lots of great ideas there..I think I'm going to start test- driving those apps like text wranger and others. thank you! but, just for information's sake, has something change in Text Edit? I recall being able to write .html pages in TE and have them STAY that way, merely be switching to plain text mode and saving the files. nk
