[X4U] Disk Utility vs Onyx

OK..do you get a better result by booting the computer to the Install 
disk, then using Disk Utility which comes on that disk?

I seem to recall some of these maintenence operations going better when 
the volume being worked on was not the boot volume at the time the 
utility was run..maybe that pertains to the old days?
