IMHO, the easiest way would be to make a bootable clone/backup (using Carbon Copy Cloner, SuperDuper!, etc.) to a bootable FWHD. Boot into it, delete your wife's account, and hook it up to the new machine. Start the new machine and transfer from another volume/computer via the Migration Assistant.
