You might want to check out http://afterthemac.com/.  I purchased their
G54SL USB wireless adapter a couple of years ago for about $40.00 for my
IBook (circa 2001)  and it has worked very well. I use the adapter mainly
when traveling and staying at motels which offer wireless connection. I
would think it would also work in an early Imac
