Perhaps that points out one of Microsoft's major weak points. Their idea of studying the competitor may well be very weak. I'd say this is born out of arrogance. After all they (Microsoft) have been the dominant PC OS supplier in the world for a long time. Apple is an arrogant company in some ways, but the one thing Apple does better than most other retail companies, is that it has not forgotten that the must serve their customers with premium products both hardware and software wise.
