[X4U] Finder default view-Was "Is there a....."

This must be a 10.5 option as in Finder--->file--->pull down menu , I  
see:

New Finder Window
New Folder
New Smart Folder
New Burn folder
grayed out options



Get Info




Find


All the rest are grayed out . I am at 10.4.11 is this a 10.5 feature?
