I've used both the iPhone and android and they are both excellent devices. I am currently using an android phone on T-mobile because their plans are cheaper and the service is good in Topeka. I like both IOS and android, but I prefer android more at the moment. I would save the money and go with android. I use Google services for calendar, mail and address book. Syncing music and movies on android isn't as simple but shouldn't cause any pain. Thousands of great apps can be had for both android and IOS.
