[BTM] Tungsten won't sync with Desktop

It's plugged directly into the USB ports on both the iMac and the 
PowerBook.  I've tried unplugging/plugging it with no change.  It knows 
it's there because I can pair it up just prior to and after a failed 
HotSync.

No, I haven't.  I've never tried to do a HotSync without an adapter.
