HBH-30 + T68 pairing problem

My HBH-30 worked great for months until one day I had to 'reset' my T68 
(from the menus). Now, I cannot pair the two. I go bluetooth>linked 
devices>add device>phone accepts>[assign a personal name - T68]>ready 
[start HBH30]>"HBH-30 - add to paired devices?>[answer 
Yes]>password?>[I enter 0000, the supposed default password]>Pairing 
failed, retry? And around it goes...

Everything 'sees' everything, but for some reason whatever password I 
use (0000, or anything) results in a pairing failed situation.

Any clues? Is there a way the password would have become something else?
