No - if you drop the computer or use it in an impromptu frisbee game
AppleCare is unlikely to fix it. On the other hand, I've seen a few of these
kind of things things fixed anyway. OTOH, your homeowners policy can cover
this. I have a rider on my homeowners insurance that costs $25 a year. It
covers all the stupid accidents with a $50 deductible. It also covers theft
at home and away - except from an unattended car.
