  The FW port failed on my Graphite clamshell iBook. Apple said it would 
have to replace the motherboard at a cost of around $375.00. I didn't 
have the money and ended up getting an iceBook, so that the need was 
lessened. I still may eventually get it replaced.

The prices for the iceBook motherboards are about the same...
