Yes, as long as it slows them down or makes them think second about doing it.

Like the kids that tried to steal my van. They used a screwdriver to damage the door, the door lock, and the steering column, but the steering column lock (and the lack of their experience), kept them from driving off with it.

I wonder if there is also some steel where that plastic loop is located on the iBook.
