most of the OT postings entertaining, or at least tolerable!

I use an 'Incase' case  
http://shop.store.yahoo.com/goincase/laptopsleeve.html  which is small 
enough to slip into a bike pannier or other bag and just (for me ) 
manages well the compromise between space and size.
