Both utilities must be on a boot volume that is not the one you want to 
fix or optimize. Insert the CD, restart and hold down the C key so that 
you boot off of the CD. Then you can run both utilities on you startup 
disk either OS 9 or OS X.  When you boot off of the startup CD, 
Filesharing is not turned on.
