Clamshell cracks and recall

I have a crack on my clamshell iBook. It's on the Topcase, extending  
from where the tab just below the spacebar to the grey area surrounding  
the trackpad.

Are there any recalls or any advice members can share with me about  
having my case repaired. AppleCare tells me the case is not covered by  
Applecare.

I think the crack ocurred when my clamshell went in for repairs 18  
months ago to replace the CD tray that flew out the case. I think this  
since the crack originates at the spot where the tab inserts below the  
spacebar.

Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Woz if you  
read this, what would you suggest?
