[P1] DVD region codes?

I'm sure...I know from practical experience. It seems like it *should* 
work that way (and in fact, the digital nature of the information is 
probably what makes DVD players with reasonable onboard standards 
conversion so affordable), but it doesn't. (I'm not sure how the 
Eurpoean region is set up, though I do know that multi-standard 
equipment is far more common there than it is in the US.)
