Works just fine with OSX, both 10.1.5 and any variant of Jaguar.
I do it all the time, as I do not own a stand-alone DVD player.

I know this is an old thread -- I'm clearing out backlog -- but I 
noticed that nobody had addressed the OS9-only comment.
