There has always been a conflict between fax software, modem programs 
and other software. Have you checked all of your settings to see that 
Fax STF X is the first software program that has a short at the 
incoming phone signal? It is supposed to pickup the phone and listen 
for a fax tone and if it doesn't hear one, drop the line and let the 
next application take its shot.
