Offhand, I'd venture a guess that some part is heating up with use, expanding, and creating friction with a spinning component of the drive. First thing to do is to check and make sure everything was put back properly when you installed the additional RAM module; perhaps even remove it and see what happens. Otherwise, if this has just happened after you received the iBook back from Apple, I'd make arrangements to send it back to them again. Apart from being irritating, it could significantly shorten the life of the drive.
