Oh no. I only unplug the power cord when there is no light around the socket
of the iBook. With the mains switched on, the iBook's powerlight on the side
will be either amber (charging) or green (full charge).

I only take the socket out of the iBook when there is no light on, i.e. when
it is using its battery power.
