I was making a reference to Robert Heinlein's incredible science 
fiction classic "Stranger in a Strange Land"

grok is the word Mike, the protagonist, used to describe what he did 
before creating his miracles. Often after Mike grokked something it 
disappeared. Jubal was another central character in the book.
