I have a very low cost standalone fax machine for those times when I want to fax a newspaper clipping or some other non-computer-generated piece of paper. I rarely use it for incoming faxes (it's not even on its own line anymore), preferring to use the free eFax service and receive incoming faxes via email from wherever I am. I don't use a scanner regularly, so the standalone machine works for me. Mark
