Yeah, you've pretty much got it Erin.

The coloured iBooks were made between 1999-2001, and the white iBooks
followed them from May 2001-present.

People here call the coloured iBooks the Clamshells because that's what they
look like, although mine has often been called either a large purse or a
toilet seat. The Clamshell's came in the following colours:

- Tangerine
- Blueberry
- Graphite
- Indigo
- Key Lime (available only from the Apple store).

The newer square white iBooks are lovingly referred to as Icebooks. One guy
took his Icebook apart, removed the crystal white paint and sprayed the
whole thing blue. I've seen another one where a graphic designer in France
removed the panel casing of the screen and put a special graphic around the
Apple insignia. That was probably posted here by someone a few months ago. I
do have a URL link to them I'm afraid.
